You are the one that decides how much your base eats. Think your missing the point here, yes 'when' they add endless planets we will have infinte power, but at the rate it eats it up who wants to spend the rest of the game just mining for power, bearing in mind you will have to go out and explore these said planets, plus there also bringing in the planets 'staying active' when you leave so they will constantly use up power, plus build more bases and ships, you 'WOULD' end up having to mine for power constantly to keep them all going
